The Short Version

Two things shape JB from now to early January. First, school holidays on both sides of the border overlap: Singapore's end-of-year break starts on 21 November, and Johor schools break on 5 December. Second, Christmas Day (25 December 2026) and New Year's Day (1 January 2027) both fall on a Friday, so each makes a three-day weekend in Singapore. Dates That Affect Your Crowd Level

Singapore primary and secondary schools: the school year ends on 20 November, and the holidays run 21 November to 31 December 2026, according to the Ministry of Education.
Singapore JC Year 1 and MI: holidays run 28 November to 31 December 2026.
Johor schools (Malaysia Group B): year-end holidays are listed as 5 to 31 December 2026, with schools reopening on 4 January 2027. We found this on two school-calendar sites, not on the education ministry's own circular, so confirm with the school if it matters to you.
Christmas Day: Friday 25 December 2026, a Singapore public holiday per the Ministry of Manpower. Malaysian holiday lists we saw show it as a public holiday too.
New Year's Day: Friday 1 January 2027, a Singapore public holiday. Whether it is a day off in Johor was not confirmed, so check your employer or the venue.

In plain terms, the weekends of 5-6 December, 12-13 December, 19-20 December and 25-27 December are the ones to plan around if you want quiet roads. If you can, cross on a weekday morning.

LEGOLAND Malaysia: Brick-Tacular Holiday

The festive event runs 13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. The park lists a Santa's Playtown mission walk, an Elf Carnival with games and a LEGO ornament to take home, live holiday shows, a giant LEGO tree for photos and a Build to Give heart workshop. There is also a daily Advent Calendar lucky draw from 1 to 31 December: spend RM199 or more on LEGO products or food and drink in the park to enter. A New Year's Eve evening with live music and dancing is listed for 31 December, but no artists, hours or closing time were published. Ducktastic Dash Run, 28 November

A 5 km night fun run, described as a fun run and not a race, at AEON Mall Bandar Dato' Onn. Flag-off is 8:15 pm on 28 November 2026 and registration is listed from RM25. The cheapest package may not include a T-shirt, and the registration deadline was not stated.

What We Could Not Confirm
