Common questions

Is Johor Bahru city centre safe to stay in?

It is a normal working city, and normal city sense applies: phone out of sight on the street at night, Grab instead of long walks after dark, valuables locked. Our building has 24/7 CCTV, keypad entry, lockers inside the pod room, and a pod door that locks from the inside. No curfew, so a late Causeway crossing is not a problem.

Where should I stay in JB without a car?

Somewhere central enough that food is walkable and Grab rides are short. Taman Pelangi is exactly that — restaurants, kopitiam and mamak stalls all around, plus the Tuesday pasar malam from 4:30 PM. See getting around JB without a car.

What is the cheapest stay near JB Sentral and CIQ?

A capsule pod is the cheapest way to get a private, lockable space near the border. We are a RM8–12 Grab ride from JB CIQ and JB Sentral, and 15 minutes by car from Woodlands CIQ on the Singapore side.

Can I stay long term?

Yes. Monthly pod stays start from RM594 per month, WiFi included, no deposit. Details on the rooms page.
